According to the World Health Organization, every 40 seconds in this world one death is due to suicide. Don't you think this is a big problem? My aim is not to judge anyone right or wrong, I want to develop an understanding within you so that you can stop going into a dangerous state like depression. Or if you are in depression now so you can get out of it. And for this I want to tell you a story, from this story you will know how Gautam Buddha saves a person from committing suicide.

Once Gautam buddha is passing through a mountain with his 5 monks, on that mountain there are beautiful trees, on which various flowers and fruits are growing, Looking down from that mountain, one can see a beautiful river whose water is flowing.

Buddha mendicants tell to Buddha, Buddha this is a beautiful place, the happiness within us is not stopping from coming out Buddha says yes, you are telling the truth but to see this peace It is very important to have peace within us.

Just then a person comes running and tries to jump down from that mountain. Buddha seen that person and understand that he wants to commit suicide, so Buddha holds his hand before jumping. He tries to get rid of his hand from Buddha's hand and says leave me who are you to hold me I have a right to my own life, Buddha says no it is the right of the mother who gave birth to you, The father who raised you have the right, this is the long chain that has made you who you are today

Hearing the Buddha, the person starts crying and sits on the ground. Buddha says that this was momentary impulse of the mind now it's calmed down that person tells to Buddha it is not momentary, I have everything in my life but Whenever I looked myself I found darkness, I found very deep pain and that’s why I have no desire to live life.

Gautam Buddha

Buddha says when a desire arises, we feel that when it is fulfilled, we will be satisfied. But as soon as the desire is fulfilled, our mind is again filled with loneliness. You know why because when the desire was a wish, it was a dream; when the wish was fulfilled, we understand the difference that it was also a dream.

He asks, is nothing in this life immortal, Buddha says, but he is not outside but inside. You have enjoyed the happiness of the outside, now try to know the happiness which is within you. Nothing will happen by running away from life, you have to bring a direction into your life to know who you are.

That person says to Buddha, who are you and how do you know all this, Buddha says who am I? You will know this only when you look at me properly.

That person wipes his tears and looks at Buddha and keeps on looking. Seeing Buddha brilliance, he says to Buddha, I have never seen beautiful person than you.

Buddha says I was standing beside you for so long but you could not see me because your eyes were blind and wanted to see only darkness everywhere. Man can make any world he wants in his mind, that person says it is true

I was born in a wealthy family there was no shortage of anything in life. I kept fulfilling every pleasure, desire but I was suffocating inside. I kept falling in my own eyes.

Buddha says many human beings are suffering from physical diseases, suffering from lack of money. And the same number of human beings are suffering from mental diseases. Buddha says to that person look around then he looks around and see beautiful flowers, birds, rivers, beautiful waterfalls.

That person says such a beautiful scene.

Buddha say to that person when you were going to jump why you could not see this beauty, he says because I was not ready to see and I only wanted to see the echo of my own sorrows

Buddha says, you have calmed down now but this nature has not changed, it is the same, only your eyes have changed now. Excess of anything, even if it is happiness, only gives rise to sorrow. That's why stay in the middle and you will be able to see the things as they are.

There are only two reasons for depression, first our expectations are not fulfilled and secondly we do not accept the reality, when we do not get what we want, then we become depressed. Or when we lose someone we loved we fill our lives with sadness.

While we know that this is the law of nature, what is with us today will not be with us tomorrow or we may not be with him tomorrow. But knowing everything, we always make sorrow as a center of our life.

While we know that this is the law of nature, what is with us today will not be with us tomorrow or we may not be with him tomorrow. But knowing everything, we always make sorrow as a center of our life and then whole life you walk around your center.
